My Muse

I had a great session the other day where my client discussed his search for “his muse.” We talked at length about the importance of having something that you personally care about – a way in which you can interact with the world with positive passion. It may be creating art, joining a political organization, planting a garden, etc…

What is your “muse”?

  1. Every idea is the ability to change something. the difference is not a drawback, but it is an advantage that we must be proud .. success

  2. Passion is all that matters in life. Without it we are merely flesh and blood, moving through the day, bound by gravity and the dirt beneath our feet . With it our spirits are free to fly, to create, to love….

  3. Are you trying to realize the variety of passions we use as our own personal muse to find a common theme or to find out how different we all are, I regret that I’m nowhere near as poetic or inspirational in my comment, but for my muse has always been performing in local theater. The ultimate escape from one’s self is to be able to become someone else for awhile. Live through them while finding deep hidden parts of yourself to breath life into them. A character role can be more thereputic than a trip to Europe or a week on the therepist’s couch. Atleast… it is for me.

  4. Sorry for my English. For me all people around are my muses. looking at them, speaking with them, doing something with them all of this gives me a power, ideas and mind abilities to be and to do something greater then i was and i did before. Also a special people that can turn all the way of life upside down gives me inspiration to create.
P.S. i think your method of psychoterapy is genious.

  5. Ah! This is simple, my muse is the life! It’s so amusing and picturesque living, even with the bad times, that simple will to enjoy every moment of “now” makes me want to live longer and longer. Always learning new things, changing my own concepts, changing concepts of the world, learning from the past, but never stuck with it and not getting anxious about the future, to avoid unnecessary suffering and avoid becoming more neurotic than I already am, well as Freud said.

  6. I’ve never had a muse like this before,
it feels quite nice I must admit.
Feeling inspired to write the words,
    because there you swimingly sit.

You are flying here soon to see me,
because of this I’m feeling distraught.
I’m ashamed of my life or lack there of,
and what I have and haven’t even got.

I wonder what it is you think of me,
to warrant such an undeserved visit.
I can’t imagine meaning that much,
to someone and being well worth it.

The life I lead is void of one another,
and spent alone 4 days of four.
I’ve never been in this much pain,
except for yesterday and the days before.

When I dream of what you’ll expect,
it conjures up all my darkest fears.
It seems as if I have nothing to offer,
but all night talks with eyes full of tears.

There is no fun kind of sin left,
alone and locked behind the black door.
There once was a time with things,
but that time is no longer more.

It’s been years since I’ve owned a bed,
or wanted one to make and share.
The thought of ever having another,
is way to much to want or dare.

The daily grinding moments of pain,
that exists between the ticks and tocks.
Sometimes I feel as if they’ll stop,
whenever I look directly at the clocks.

I’m really just a dead beat poet,
rejected by all of my peers.
    On the surface everyone smiles,
    but underneath are only jeers.

    I’m the one that everyone,
likes to know from a distant afar.
Don’t get too close they all say,
as they keep their closed minds ajar.

    My existence is rather something,
    I wouldn’t call it a livable life.
It’s more like a bad joke or add,
    selling struggle and constant strife.

    Every breath I begrudgingly take,
is full of hopeless and wanton dread.
The countdown has started from here,
when it stops one of me will be dead.

    • Reading your poem was a moment of having my muse acknowledge my wishes at present where she is concerned. In your poem you expressed a very impure kind of cynicism which drains your energy and reflects what was going on quite well with me and my own muse for the last 24 hours.

Let me dispell your attitude by saying without a doubt writing poetry if something one feels compelled to do over time, has really no equal in terms of value for this reader. To me it reflects the hidden power of your most heart felt wishes, and its spectaculor to see this and other forms of creativity having relationship in its focus which gets referred to as the muse. I congratulate and celebrate your poetry and ask now that you begin to purify your attitude towards it, and honor it with the respect it deserves. To begin with, it sets all those without the energy or sincerity apart from everyone else as they relate to you. It’s a soothsayer of the most enjoyable form, at least for me.

  7. Knowledge-force! To receive knowledge through the non-standard approach-means for me – pedagogical creativity. Out of any schemes and frameworks. To learn every day. Very important – transfer of knowledge.
I consider, “naked therapy” – pedagogical creativity. It is possible to reach much when you understand the purpose and you realize the validity

  8. The muse is to be alive, with the people of this world, not excluding all of them. The society is a lie wihtin it survives from individuals and not from people living with people. What we don’t know, or we don’t see, it doesn’t exists. And that is not curiosity, it’s a need to be alive, be oneself as human, be all as ourselves as human and take care of being alive well.

  9. Sarah–I agree–It’s very important for everyone to have something they identify with. Something that enhances their self image. Something that their successful with. I call it MoJo but others cal it their Muse.

  10. Naked therapy is pedagogical creativity! It’s possible to reach numbers that would other wise not have been reached when you understand the purpose and you realize the validity. It’s important for everyone to have something they identify with…

  11. Ms. Sarah many compliments. I think it’s really wonderful to talk about themselves and feel at ease and be able to make positive what we create in our lives uncomfortable.

  12. It is a wonderful therapy becuase people find hesitation in consulting with doctors and this is therapy let them to relax a bit

  13. naked psychotheraphy is amazing and brillient creativity. and it’s really a good way to touch one’s inner heart–this is pretty important to implement psychotheraphy, because everyone feel themselves naked and exposed their body to the psychiatrist when express their personal trouble, how one can be reliefed and communicate with phychiatrist in a relax manner?
ps: I like Sarah not just for her genious creativity, but also for her looks very like the girl I deeply loved once before.
