sarah01Core Beliefs of Naked Therapy

Naked Therapy draws on various elements from psychotherapy, behavioral therapy, and positive psychology. In these practices, therapists use a variety of means (or modalities) to help patients access their unconscious and inner drives, such as dream analysis, free association, or cognitive re-programming. Naked Therapy employs a new modality – nakedness – and the related elements of beauty, arousal and desire.

Some of the core beliefs of Naked Therapy are:

- That a person’s personality reflects his/her attempts to adapt to reality. Often, due to the stress of living, people come to hold false beliefs that foster sadness and dissatisfaction and replacing those false beliefs with true beliefs leads to greater understanding and happiness. Coming to terms with and learning to recognize the factors of one’s arousal can help facilitate this replacement.

- That the things we do in the course of our day add up to our emotional reality. Diet, exercise, interpersonal encounters, daily activities and positive thinking are important to creating a healthy physical life, which is essential to a healthy psychological life. Engaging in Naked Therapy also challenges a patient to view arousal and desire as central to a healthy life.

- That a person’s sexual identity is important in how a person understands him or herself and exploring childhood experiences, current erotic desires, and sexual practices ultimately allows sexuality to be addressed in a positive and affirming way, and through this positive and affirmative expression of our sexuality we can lose the shame and confusion that often surround sex and begin leading more fulfilling, desire-rich lives.

Naked therapy is unique in its ability to help patients realize the benefits of a healthier, happier life. By addressing the cognitive realities and beliefs of the patient, I help them arrive at thoughts that lead to deeper personal satisfaction and goal attainment. By addressing daily actions, I help them achieve a more ordered, positive, healthy lifestyle that heals the mind. And by appearing naked before them and allowing desire to flow, unashamed and self-positive about my beauty, and feeling comfortable with however they wish to satisfy themselves through our relationship, I help them see that sexuality and desire can be positively integrated with their lives and personal objectives, and that a healthy relationship with desire can help them improve and more richly enjoy themselves, their intimates, and their world.

And by the way, the cover image is used for comic relief ;)
